Serpents Trial

March 13, 2025

Overview

Serpent’s Trial is a Greek mythology-inspired puzzle game. As Medusa’s descendant, petrify enemies into movable statues within Athena’s temple. Use lasers, mirrors, and strategic thinking to solve puzzles across 12 challenging designed levels.

Serpent’s Trial was developed as a student project at the S4G School for Games between January and March 2025.

My Role as a Producer

Project Management

Project Management

I maintained the project backlog in Notion, organizing tasks by priority and complexity. Planning was done in 1-week sprints, where I used burndown charts for the first time to keep the team on track.

Team Communication

Working with a small team meant to also establish clear communication from day one. I set up a structured Discord server with dedicated channels, scheduled daily standups and created small reusable meeting templates for the milestone planning or weekly recaps for example.

Tool Iteration

Tool Iteration

Early I evaluated and switched the pkm tools twice. From Asana to Taiga and then to Notion. We first needed to find a good workflow with the right tool, which was a lesson I carried into every project after this one.

My role as a Designer

Together with a fellow designer I developed the initial game idea and set up the game design document. I also helped shape the puzzle design alongside the team.

My role as a Generalist

I recorded sound effects, created lighting, shaders and visual effects. On the marketing side I cut the game trailer, edited screenshots and set up the itch.io page and presentations.
